đ Let me tell you a story which all founders in this room probably relate to.
Imagine youâve built a great service or product.
The product itself is solid â solves a real problem, friends and family and team loves it!
Today building a product is hard.
But growing it? Thatâs brutal.
So hereâs whatâs happening:
- The ad youâre running gets ignored because it looks like every other ad. Money lost! Lots of it!
- The marketing assets you have made to publicize it, arenât working - you like it but users donât get it
- People land on your website, but the donât contact or sign up â less or no trust conveyed, so half bounce.
- Those who sign up and hit a signup flow that asks for too much, too early â and they drop off.
- The ones who make it in donât find value quickly, so they churn in week one or a month.
- Heard of - People donât trust brands, they trust people! Are you -the founder educating enough or sharing knowledge, pain and need of using the product with the world! Are you working towards build their personal brand anyhow. Killer content in place? Trustworthy personal web presence in place? No
- And finally when you pitch investors for funding, your brand presence feels âjust another company around the block,â so they donât care much!
Now â is your product bad?
No.
But the design around the product failed.
And because of that, growth stalls.
You keep telling yourself âmaybe itâs the market, maybe itâs timing, maybe we just need more salespeople.â
Most founders donât die because their product doesnât work.
